In Britain there are a number of different ways of introducing one person to another, depending on the occasion. In a formal introduction, we use a person's title followed by the surname. In an informal situation, or when introducing children, we use first names. In both formal and informal introductions we say ‘this is’, when referring to the people we are introducing, not ‘he/she is’ (informal 非正式) ‘John, meet Mary.’(informal 非正式) ‘Mrs Smith, this is my daughter, Jane.’(formal 正式) ‘May I introduce you. Dr Waters, this is Mr Jones. Mr Jones, Dr Waters.’ An informal response to an introduction is ‘Hello’ or ‘Nice to meet you.’ A formal response is ‘How do you do?’ The other person also replies: ‘How do you do?’ When people are introduced they often shake hands. 在英国,不同的场合有不同的介绍方式。在正式场合,用头衔加姓氏;在非正式场合或介绍小孩时,直接用名字。无论在正式场合还是非正式场合,作介绍时都用this is,而不用he/she is(非正式):‘John, meet Mary.’“约翰,这是玛丽。”·(非正式):‘Mrs Smith, this is my daughter, Jane.’“史密斯太太,这是小女简。”·(正式):‘May I introduce you.
