In Britain there are a number of different ways of introducing one person to another, depending on the occasion. In a formal introduction, we use a person's title followed by the surname. In an informal situation, or when introducing children, we use first names. In both formal and informal introductions we say ‘this is’, when referring to the people we are introducing, not ‘he/she is’ (informal 非正式) ‘John, meet Mary.’(informal 非正式) ‘Mrs Smith, this is my daughter, Jane.’(formal 正式) ‘May I introduce you. Dr Waters, this is Mr Jones.
